Students may leave early, but must have a ride home. Students may not remain on campus unsupervised after 5pm.
Location: Art Room (D5/D8)
Cost: $60 per academic year per student or $30/semester. This goes to additional clay
and supplies for the club’s use. Checks made to HHS. Payment made in the front office.
Bus: A late bus is available to pick up students who reside within the HHS
boundaries. The bus departs at 5:30pm. Students can sign up for the late bus in the front office.
Purpose: The purpose of the club is to provide opportunities for students who want to learn
how to make sculpture and pottery from clay, and have increased amounts of time to work in
this material. Students will also spend some time on the potter’s wheel. In addition, members
of the club may participate in extra events such as the “Empty Bowls” festival in the spring.
Attendance is voluntary and a sign-in sheet record is kept daily if you want to know what
hours/days your student has attended.
The atmosphere of the ceramics studio must be focused and conducive to
advancing one’s abilities with clay. All materials must be used appropriately as they are costly
and can also cause harm if not used in the right way.
