HHS Senior Tyson King named All-American

HHS Senior Tyson King has been recognized as a 2017-2018 Academic All-American by the National Speech and Debate Association, the oldest speech and debate association in the United States. He joins a long list of former HPSD students that have garnered this award. King qualified for this award by earning over 750 competition points in his tenure to date at Hattiesburg High coupled with a cumulative grade point average above a 3.7.


King was the first student in the storied history of Mississippi Boys State to be elected Governor as an Independent candidate. He currently leads the Forensics department in NSDA degrees and points after finishing in the top twelve in the county last year in Forensics competitions. Congratulations Tyson!
