Homework for Friday, 8/31

We don't usually have newly assigned homework over the week.  There are a few on-going things that the kids may want to work on this weekend like spelling, vocabulary, and book covering.  I did give the kids a quick pre-writing activity called "Together We Shine" which means they need to spend 5-10 minutes sharing a small bag of items with a family member to determine their opinion about the items.  Other than that, their homework is to enjoy the joy of family and friends!  Have a great long weekend!

Reminder -  Monday, 9/3 is a NO SCHOOL day for Labor Day

Homework for Thursday, 8/30
Thursday Folders went home for the first time today.  These green folders are a major way the school communicates with you as parents.  It is also how I send home graded work for review.  Please go through your student's Thursday folder, go over graded work with your student, and sign the report on the back of the cover so that you student can turn it in on time.  Please do not throw away or keep the graded work at home -- give it back to your student once you have reviewed it together to put in their binder.  They are required to keep all graded work in their binder until the end of the trimester.  Thank you for helping them learn to use their binder properly!  This is a skill they will need in 6th-8th grade and beyond.
